The FIM World Motocross Championships and the Grand Prix of Qatar has turned a new page in the sports history as the first ever Grand Prix night race was a huge success. Great weather conditions, an amazing race circuit and brilliant racing made the weekend in Doha, Qatar a highlight for many people. Clement Desalle and Jeffrey Herlings were the winners of MX1 and MX2 and deserved to head to Thailand this week with the red plates.
The Qatar GP was the first time the MX1 and MX2 riders were combined for a “Superfinal” race. The top 20 MX1 and the top twenty MX2 riders lined up together and went at it. Antonio Cairoli would take the checkered flag in the Superfinal. To see the top riders in both classes lining up on the same gate is amazing!
What are your thoughts on this? Would you like to see the top 20 450 riders and the top 20 250 riders line up in a “Superfinal” type race during the AMA Outdoor Nationals? Have the 450 heavy hitters such as Ryan Villopoto, Chad Reed, James Stewart and Ryan Dungey go up against the 250 heavy hitters such as Eli Tomac, Ken Roczen, Blake Wharton, Cole Seely?
